Elton John - Jewel Box: And This Is Me

Jewel Box: And This Is Me is a compilation album by British singer songwriter Elton John, released in November 2020 via Rocket Entertainment and EMI Records.

During the COVID-19 lockdown period Elton John’s Farewell Yellow Brick Road tour was postponed and he focused on a project to release material from the early period of his career when he and Taupin were starting out as songwriters, as well as rarer and less well-known songs that he seldom gets to perform live.

The compilation album Jewel Box was released as an 8 CD set and comprises early demos and unreleased recordings, B-Sides, album deep cuts. Three vinyl albums were released containing a sub set of the material on the 8 CD album box set.  Included in the Jewel Box was an album of material that acts as a companion piece to his 2019 autobiography “Me”.

This album And This Is Me.. is that companion piece, with songs referenced in the autobiography including “Empty Sky”, “Lady Samantha”, “I Think I’m Gonna Kill Myself”, “Sartorial Eloquence” and “American Triangle”. The album closes out with the Academy Award winning song “(I’m Gonna) Love Me Again”, performed by Elton and Taron. Egerton for the biopic movie “Rocketman”.

This double album 2LP record set is on 180 gram black vinyl housed in a gatefold sleeve with printed inner sleeves and a download code, pressed in Germany via EMI Records.
