Berlin is the third studio album by American Musician Lou Reed, originally released in July 1973 via RCA Records.
Heavy orchestrated and musically far away from the glam-rock of Transformer and closer to the art-rock of the Velvet Underground, Berlin tells the story of doomed couple, Jim and Caroline, and addresses themes of drug use, prostitution, depression, domestic violence and suicide.
Initially, critical reception was mixed but appraisals of the album have warmed over the years. In 1973 Rolling Stone declared the album "a disaster" but by 2012, the album was ranked No. 344 on Rolling Stone's list of the 500 greatest albums of all time.
This limited LP record is remastered on 150 gram heavyweight black vinyl, reissued in 2016.
