The Weeknd - Dawn FM

Dawn FM is the fifth studio album by Canadian singer songwriter The Weeknd, released in January 2022 via XO and Republic Records.

The Weeknd (Abel Tesfaye), is a Canadian singer, songwriter, actor and record producer. In 2010, he anonymously uploaded several songs to YouTube under the name "The Weeknd" and released the mixtapes House of Balloons, Thursday, and Echoes of Silence in 2011 which quickly gained him a following and recognition from several mainstream publications due to his dark wave-style of R&B and the mystique surrounding his identity.

One of the worlds biggest artists ‘The Weeknd’ surprised everyone with the release of Dawn FM on 7^th January 2022 – a sonic experience featuring 16 hit singles.

Dawn FM features narration by Jim Carrey, guest vocals from Tyler, The Creator and Lil Wayne, and spoken word appearances from Quincy Jones and Josh Safdie.

The Weeknd described the album's concept as a state of purgatory; a journey towards the "light at the end of a tunnel", serving as a follow-up to his fourth studio album After Hours (2020).

Musically, Dawn FM is an upbeat record containing dance-pop and synth-pop songs that are heavily inspired by the 1980s new wave, funk and electronic dance music styles. The album is arranged with a radio show theme with the DJ making announcements before and after some of the songs throughout the album.

The album received widespread acclaim from music critics, who complimented its production and melodies.

This double album 2LP record set is on black vinyl housed in a gatefold sleeve, pressed in the US via Republic Records.
