Snow Patrol - Wildness

Wildness is the seventh studio album by British rock band Snow Patrol, released in May 2018 via Polydor Records.

Snow Patrol are a Northern Irish-Scottish rock band, formed in Dundee, Scotland in 1994. The band current band members are Gary Lightbody (vocals, guitar), Nathan Connolly (guitar, backing vocals), Paul Wilson (bass guitar, backing vocals), Jonny Quinn (drums), and Johnny McDaid (piano, guitar, backing vocals). Initially an indie rock band, the band rose to prominence in the early-mid 2000s as part of the post-Britpop movement.

After a seven-year gap between studio albums, Snow Patrol released Wildness in 2018, which found the band searching for clarity, connection, and meaning, while staying true to the melodic songwriting prowess that brought them to prominence.

Wildness tapped into something raw and primitive. Lead-singer and songwriter Gary Lightbody said of the album: “There are many types of wildness, but I think it can be distilled into two: the wildness of the modern age, all its confusion, illogic and alienation and a more ancient wildness. Something primal, alive and beautiful that speaks to our true connectivity, our passion, our love, our communion with nature and each other. This is the kind of wildness the album is centered around. The loss of it. Trying to reconnect with it. To remember it.”

The album reached #2 on the UK, #49 on the US Billboard 200 and #12 on the Australian albums charts.

This double album 2LP record set is a deluxe expanded edition on blue and white coloured vinyl housed in a gatefold sleeve with printed inner sleeves, pressed in Europe via Polydor Records.
