Robbie Williams - Life Thru A Lens

Life Through A Lens is the debut solo studio album by English singer songwriter Robbie Williams, originally released in September 1997 via Chrysalis Records.

This was his first solo album after his departure from Take That in 1995. He had been introduced to Guy Chambers in January 1997 and this would become the start of a successful songwriting and production partnership that would go on to produce his most commercially successful solo albums.

The music on the album was influenced by Brtipop and is a departure from the pop music of his band Take That.

The first three singles released from the album “Old Before I Die”, “Lazy Days” and “South Of The Border” achieved moderate chart success in the UK, however it was the fourth single released from the album “Angels” that broke him worldwide as a solo artist. “Angels” peaked at #4 on the UK singles chart, however it has gone onto become his biggest selling single in the UK, and at the 2005 BRIT Awards the song was voted by the British public as the best song in the past 25 years of British music.

The fifth single released from the album “Let Me Entertain You” went onto peak at #3 on the UK singles chart, and has been a mainstay of his live shows ever since.

Life Thru A Lens debuted at #11 on the UK albums chart and initially remained in the lower regions, until the chart success of "Angels", helped it to steadily climb up the charts, finally reaching #1 in April 1998, five months after the album’s release.

This album is being released on vinyl for the very first time in 2021.

This album is a 25^th Anniversary limited edition reissue on milky clear coloured vinyl housed in a gatefold sleeve with alternate cover artwork with a printed inner sleeve, pressed in Europe via Island Records.
