Robbie Williams - I've Been Expecting You

I’ve Been Expecting You is the second solo studio album by English singer songwriter Robbie Williams, originally released in October 1998 via Chrysalis Records.

For his second solo album Robbie Williams continued his successful songwriting and production collaboration with Guy Chambers and this time serving up a more varied and sophisticated album than his solo debut Life Thru A Lens (1997).

Majority of the songs were co-written by Williams and Chambers and there is one cover of a World Party song (written by Karl Wallinger), “She’s The One”.

The debut single released from the album “Millenium” features is inspired by the James Bond music written by John Barry from the movie You Only Live Twice. In fact one could surmise that perhaps the album cover with Williams featured in a dark suit and tie with round holes mirroring a gun sight, could have been inspired by the James Bond franchise. “Millenium” became Robbie’s first single to go to #1 on the UK singles chart and “She’s The One” also reached #1.

The second single “No Regrets” features guest vocals from Pet Shop Boy Neil Tennant and Neil Hannon from The Divine Comedy, reaching #4 on the UK singles chart.

The fourth single “Strong” was also a chart success, reaching #4 on the UK charts and a fifth single “Win Some Lose Some” was released exclusively in Australia and New Zealand in March 2000.

The album reached #1 on the UK albums chart and has gone onto sell more than 2.5 million copies in the UK.

This album is being released on vinyl for the very first time in 2021.

This album is on 180 gram black vinyl housed in a gatefold sleeve with a printed inner sleeve, download code and audio mastered at Abbey Road Studios, pressed in Europe via Island Records.
