Renée Geyer - Difficult Woman

Difficult Woman is the ninth studio album by Australian soul and R&B singer Renée Geyer, originally released in September 1994 via Larrikin Records.

Difficult Woman was produced by Paul Kelly with the title track becoming one of Renée’s signature songs. Difficult Woman is an intoxicating mix of R&B, jazz and soul and is a melting pot of Renée and Paul’s individual stylings as well as Renee’s covers on The Beach Boys’ “God Only Knows” and the jazz standard “He Was Too Good To Me”.

In a 2009 interview with the ABC, Geyer said of Paul Kelly, "I think some of the best things that he's ever written have been when he's written for somebody else. He's got an uncanny way of putting things that a billion people have said a million times, but he has a way of making it sound like it's the first time you've heard it. And that's why he's such a great writer." She added that the title track is "about a complicated woman and that's it”.

The album reached #91 on the Australian ARIA albums charts and is being released on vinyl in 2024 for the very first time.

This album is a limited edition on opaque red coloured vinyl housed in a single pocket sleeve with a plain white die cut inner sleeve, pressed in Australia via Bloodlines.
