Sailing To Philadelphia is the second solo studio album by British singer songwriter and guitarist Mark Knopfler, originally released in September 2000 via Warner Bros. Records in the US and Mercury Records in the UK.
Sailing To Philadelphia celebrates its 25th Anniversary with a 2LP clear vinyl release. Originally released on 25th September 2000, the album is a fan favourite of Mark’s solo releases, and includes lead single ‘What It Is’, as well as tracks ‘Sailing To Philadelphia’ and ‘The Last Laugh’, and features vocal performances by James Taylor, Van Morrison, and Chris Difford and Glenn Tilbrook of Squeeze.
Recorded in Nashville and produced by Knopfler and Chuck Ainlay, Sailing To Philadelphia reached the top of the album charts in Germany, Italy, Norway and Switzerland, number 4 in the UK official album charts, and is certified 2x platinum in Europe.
This double album 2LP record set is a 25th Anniversary limited edition reissue on 180 gram clear coloured vinyl housed in a single pocket sleeve with a printed insert, pressed in Europe via Vertigo and Mercury Records.
