Dean Lewis - A Place We Knew

A Place We Knew is the debut studio album by Australian singer songwriter Dean Lewis, released in March 2019 via Island Records.

Dean Lewis collaborated with multiple producers Edd Holloway, Nick Atkinson, John Castleand Dann Hume along with Sydney based producer Dylan Nash whom Lewis refers to as “almost like the co-producer for the whole album”.

Lewis said that the title of the album "encapsulates the bittersweet memories of past relationships. All the songs were written through relationships I'd been in and houses I used to live in and hotel rooms".

The album includes "Be Alright”, "7 Minutes", and "Waves”, the song that first garnered him attention internationally.

In addition to writing every song on the album, Dean also plays piano and guitar on the project.

The album reached #1 on the Australian ARIA, #37 on the UK and #31 on the US Billboard 200 albums charts.

At the ARIA Music Awards of 2019, the album was nominated for three awards, winning Album of the Year, Best Male Artist, and Song of the Year for “7 Minutes”.

This album is a 2024 limited edition reissue on green coloured vinyl housed in a single pocket sleeve with a printed inner sleeve, pressed in Europe via Island Records.
