Jason Mraz - Waiting For My Rocket To Come

Waiting For My Rocket To Come is the debut studio album by American singer-songwriter Jason Mraz, originally released in October 2002 via Elektra Records.

Jason Mraz rose to prominence in the San Diego coffee house scene and on his debut album he garners comparisons to Nick Drake, James Taylor, Dave Matthews and David Gray. He has a rich voice that comes across as sincere in delivery. The production on his debut album Waiting For My Rocket To Come with Elektra Records, is subtle and highlights the raw, simple compositions which are keenly crafted. The debut single “The Remedy (I Won’t Worry)” has a funky swing, which reached #15 on the US, #63 on the Australian and #32 on the New Zealand Singles charts.

There are subtle reflections of banjo on “Curbside Prophet” and there are a couple of nice poignant ballads “Who Needs Shelter” and “Absolutely Zero”.

This is a strong debut album and provides a glimpse into the strength that would take Mraz to greater heights of commercial success in his musical career.

The album reached #55 on the US Billboard 200, #61 on the Australian and #35 on the New Zealand albums charts.
