Gary Numan - Intruder

Intruder is the twenty second studio album by British synth-pop musician Gary Numan, released in May 2021 via BMG.

Gary Webb, better known professionally as Gary Numan is an English singer, songwriter, musician and record producer. He first entered the music industry as the lead singer of the new wave band Tubeway Army. Most widely known for his chart-topping hits "Are 'Friends' Electric?" and "Cars", Numan achieved his peak of mainstream popularity in the late 1970s and early 1980s, but maintains a loyal cult following.

Numan, whose signature sound consists of heavy synthesizer hooks fed through guitar effects pedals, is considered a pioneer of commercial electronic music. In the 1990s Numan’s music has incorporated darker and more industrial elements that has won him critical acclaim and in In 2017, he received an Ivor Novello Award, the Inspiration Award, from the British Academy of Songwriters, Composers, and Authors.

Intruder follows 2017's acclaimed Savage: Songs From A Broken World, which became Gary Numan’s highest charting set in almost forty years when it debuted at #2 on the Official Albums Chart in the UK.

Whereas Savage depicted earth as a barren wasteland in which humanity and culture had been largely crushed by the effects of global warming, Intruder presents a fresh but complementary narrative.

It's a philosophical examination of a potential future apocalypse: the planet can only survive by purging its inhabitants.

Intruder was recorded between sessions at Numan's home studio in Los Angeles and at producer Ade Fenton's studio in Bath. It represents their fifth studio album together after Jagged (2006), Dead Sun Rising (2011), Splinter (Songs From A Broken Mind) (2013) and Savage (Songs From A Broken World) (2017).

This double album 2LP record set is an indies record store limited edition on red coloured vinyl housed in a gatefold sleeve with printed inner sleeves, pressed in Germany via BMG.
