Eric Clapton - Slowhand

Slowhand is the fifth studio album released by British blues rock musician Eric Clapton, originally released in November 1977 via RSO Records.

Titled after Clapton's nickname, Slowhand is to date one of his both commercially and musically most successful studio albums, producing two hit singles "Lay Down Sally" and "Wonderful Tonight", and reaching various international music charts and was honored with numerous awards and recording certifications.

Slowhand was recorded at Olympic Studios, London, and was produced by Glyn Johns, who Eric Clapton chose to work with after being impressed by his work with The Rolling Stones and The Eagles. 

The album contains both covers, and Eric Clapton's original compositions, and opens with the relaxed, bluesy shuffle of J.J. Cale's "Cocaine" and sustains it throughout the course of the album. Alternating between straight blues ("Mean Old Frisco"), country ("Lay Down Sally"), and mainstream rock ("The Core"), Slowhand remains to this day one of Eric Clapton's most prolific albums.

On its release, Slowhand reached No.2 on the Billboard chart, where it stayed for five weeks, spending a total of seventy-four weeks on the American album chart. 

This album is a 35^th Anniversary reissue on 180 gram black vinyl housed in a gatefold sleeve with remastered audio, pressed in Europe via Polydor Records.
