Clannad - In A Lifetime

In A Lifetime is a compilation album by Irish folk group Clannad, released in March 2020 via BMG.

Clannad was formed by siblings Ciarán Brennan, Pól Brennan and Moya Brennan and their twin uncles Noel and Pádraig Duggan in 1970, in Gweedore, County Donegal, Irelan. By 1979 they had released three albums and completed a successful US tour. From 1980 to 1982, they recorded and toured as a six-piece group with Enya Brennan on additional keyboards and vocals, before she left the group to pursue a solo career.

This new collection In A Lifetime captures Clannad’s incredible and enduring body of work which has, over 16 studio albums, created a legacy that’s influenced a generation of fellow Irish musicians and artists.

After a decade which saw them release five hugely influential and ground-breaking albums, in 1982 Clannad reached wider recognition when they recorded “Theme From Harry’s Game” for a powerful three- part TV drama depicting the troubles in Northern Ireland. The song became a commercial success upon its release as a single, peaking at #2 in Ireland and #5 in the UK, winning an Ivor Novello award and later being used in the movie Patriot Games. It remains the only UK hit single to be sung entirely in Irish.

This double album is a limited edition on smokey coloured vinyl housed in a gatefold sleeve, pressed in Europe via BMG.
