Hannah Schmidli - Modern Martyr

Modern Martyr is an extended play by Australian indie folk singer songwriter Hannah Schmidli, released in November 2019.

Hannah Schmidli is a singer songwriter who has been carving her own niche in indie/folk/acoustic stylings. Her melodies, beautifully blended harmonies and intelligent, insightful and powerful lyrics belies her 17 years of age. She has found a unique way of expressing her own experiences in dealing with everyday teenage issues, whilst appealing to all ages musically.

Modern Martyr is a dark satisfaction in suffering and self-absorption in trivial, frivolous and utterly shallow 21st Century problems.

Hannah says about the concept behind the EP: “I thought I was pretty level-headed until I looked back on my songs and realised that all I was writing about was procrastinating and catastrophising problems that weren’t really there.”

She says about the sound : “Picture yourself in a sumptuous lounge on plush velvet with the warm glow of light and fine wine in hand. I picture my EP as turning these visuals into a sonic lounge-scape.”

This six track EP is on compact disc housed in a cardboard gatefold sleeve, pressed in Australia.
