Dancer And The Moon is the ninth studio album by traditional folk band Blackmore’s Night, released in June 2013 via Frontiers Records.
Blackmore's Night is a British/American traditional folk pop rock band formed in 1997, consisting mainly of Ritchie Blackmore (acoustic guitar, hurdy gurdy, mandola, mandolin, nyckelharpe and electric guitar) and Candice Night (lead vocals, lyricist and woodwinds). Their line-up has seen many changes over the years.
Dancer And The Moon features a mix of original compositions and covers of songs by Randy Newman ("I Think It's Going to Rain Today"), Uriah Heep ("Lady in Black") and another Rainbow song (“Temple Of The King”, originally from the album Ritchie Blackmore's Rainbow).
The last song on the album "Carry On… Jon" is an instrumental tribute to Deep Purple co-founder Jon Lord, who died on 16 July 2012 at the age of 71.
This album is on Compact Disc housed in a jewel case with a printed booklet, pressed in Italy via Frontiers Records.
