Separation Sunday is the second studio album by American indie rock band The Hold Steady, originally released in May 2005 via Frenchkiss Records.

The classic second album from The Hold Steady, Separation Sunday fuses redemption, faith, and rock-and-roll mythology into a vivid saga.

A concept album, Separation Sunday follows the interconnected stories of several fictional characters: Craig (the narrator), Holly (short for Halleluiah), a sometimes addict, sometimes prostitute, sometimes born again Christian or Catholic (and sometimes all three simultaneously); Charlemagne, a pimp; and Gideon, a skinhead, as they travel from city to city and party to party.

Newly remastered for its 20th anniversary, this edition features B-sides, demos, and the first-ever physical release of the 2005 Virgin Digital Sessions EP; offering the most complete look yet at one of the defining records of the 2000s. Featuring new artwork with archival photos and newly-written liner notes.

This double album 2LP record set is a 20^th Anniversary edition on black vinyl housed in a gatefold sleeve with printed inner sleeves and bonus material, pressed in the via Positive Jams and Thirty Tigers.
