Spice Girls - Greatest Hits

Greatest Hits is a compilation album by British girl group Spice Girls, originally released in November 2007 via Virgin Records.

Spice Girls formed in 1994 comprising of singers Geri Halliwell ("Ginger Spice"), Emma Bunton ("Baby Spice"), Melanie Brown ("Scary Spice"), Melanie Chisholm ("Sporty Spice") and Victoria Beckham ("Posh Spice").

Their debut single “Wannabe” was released in the UK in July 1996 and quickly raced to the top of the charts in 31 countries. They continued to have massive chart success with subsequent singles and released three studio albums Spice (1996), Spiceworld (1997) and Forever (2000).

After the girls went on hiatus in December 2000, a reunion tour was announced in June 2007 and the Greatest Hits album was released to coincide with this tour. The album includes all their classic hits such as “Wannabe”, “2 Become 1”, “Mama”, “Spice Up Your Life” and a newly recorded single “Headlines (Friendship Never Ends)”, which peaked at #11 on the UK singles charts.

The album just missed out on reaching the top spot on the UK albums chart, reaching #2, however was the first of their albums to reach #1 on the Australian albums charts.

The release of this album on vinyl for the first time was in 2019 on a limited picture disc run, and in 2020 is being released on standard heavyweight vinyl for the first time.

This album is a 2025 repress on black vinyl housed in a single pocket sleeve with a printed inner sleeve, pressed in Europe via Virgin Records.
