Skegss - My Own Mess

My Own Mess is debut studio album by Australian garage surf rock band Skegss, originally released in September 2018 via Ratbag Records.

Skegss are an Australian surf music and garage rock trio originally from Byron Bay, New South Wales. Their line-up includes Toby Cregan on bass, Jonny Laneway on drums and Ben Reed on lead guitar and synth.

My Own Mess features 15 brand new tracks showcasing Skegss’ brilliant brand of garage punk, and includes the albums first two singles “Up In The Clouds” and “Smogged Out” which have both received strong support from triple j and community radio right across Australia.

After selling out tours across the country, the band have made a name for themselves with energetic, ripping live performances, garnering praise from The Music for their "infectious" on-stage chemistry and Moshcam who asserted they "seem to have some sort of hypnotic effect over their fans.”

The album debuted at #2 on the Australian ARIA albums charts and at the ARIA Music Awards of 2019, the album was nominated for ARIA Award for Best Rock Album, losing out to Amyl and the Sniffers by Amyl and the Sniffers.

This album is a limited edition 2020 reissue on transparent red coloured vinyl with a printed inner sleeve, pressed in Europe via Lorna Vista.
