Pet Shop Boys - Nonethless

Nonetheless is the fifteenth studio album by British synth-pop duo Pet Shop Boys, released in April 2024 via x2 and Parlophone Records.

The album is the duo’s first with producer James Ford, who has previously worked with artists including Arctic Monkeys, Depeche Mode, Blur, Gorillaz and Simian Mobile Disco.

The first single ‘Loneliness’, which PSB describe as ‘uplifting music with reflective lyrics’ was released in January 2024 followed by second single “Dancing Star” released in April 2024.

‘Nonetheless’ features 10 brand new tracks, recorded and mixed in London in 2023, primarily at James Ford’s studio in East London. The orchestra and backing vocals were recorded at The Church studio in North London.

In a statement, Pet Shop Boys expressed that they wanted the album, both its dance tracks and ballads, "to be a celebration of the unique and diverse emotions that make us human", and called the 10 tracks "the strongest indicators of where we are today". They also expressed that producer James Ford had "dared" them to make their "sometimes quite complicated" demos more minimal in arrangement. Singer Neil Tennant also shared that "every track has an orchestra on it… with electronics".

Nonetheless received a score of 81 out of 100 on review aggregator Metacritic based on ten critics' reviews, which the website categorised as "universal acclaim".

This album is an indie record stores limited edition on grey coloured vinyl housed in a single pocket sleeve with a printed inner sleeve, pressed in Germany via Parlophone Records.
