Nightmare is the fifth studio album by American heavy metal band Avenged Sevenfold, originally released in July 2010 via Warner Bros. Records.

Southern California's Avenged Sevenfold fifth studio album Nightmare was produced by Mike Elizondo (Dr, Dre, Eminem) and mixed by noted engineer Andy Wallace.

The album's explosive first single (and title track) is “Nightmare”.

Dream Theater drummer Mike Portnoy plays drums on Nightmare and also toured with the band for the UPROAR tour in the U.S, in August 2010 marking the band's first tour since the passing of beloved friend and drummer Jimmy “The Rev” Sullivan in December 2009.

The album debuted at #1 on the Billboard 200 albums charts in the United States. The cover of the album features a tribute to Sullivan; the tombstone reads "FOREVER" with emphasis on "REV".

This double album 2LP record set is a limited edition 2026 reissue on purple with black splatter coloured vinyl housed in a gatefold sleeve, pressed in Europe via Hopeless Records.
