Paul McCartney - Chaos And Creation In The Backyard

Chaos And Creation In The Backyard is the thirteenth solo studio album by British musician and singer songwriter Paul McCartney, originally released in September 2005 via Parlophone Records.

After a four year gap between his previous solo studio album Driving Rain (2001) McCartney teamed up with Radiohead producer Nigel Godrich, at the suggestion of George Martin.

The album sees McCartney play virtually all of the instruments on the album, similar to his McCartney (1970) and McCartney II (1980) albums.

Initial recording sessions were held with McCartney’s backing band, however Godrich felt that it would be better to work alone with McCartney, and the results draw more feeling and honesty out of the songs. According to McCartney, Godrich was at times blunt in his appraisal of McCartney's songs-in-progress during the making of the album: "Nigel... refused to allow me to sing songs that he didn't like, which was very cheeky of him”.

The album was well received by music critics, noting that the album was unusually reflective and intimate sounding for McCartney. He has said that the song “Friends To Go” was influenced by and dedicated to George Harrison.

This album is a 2018 limited edition reissue on 180 gram gold coloured audiophile vinyl housed in a single pocket sleeve with a printed insert and download, pressed in Germany via Capitol Records.
