Northlane - Discoveries

Discoveries is the debut studio album by Australian metalcore band Northlane, originally released in November 2011 via UNFD.

Northlane formed in 2009 in Sydney and currently comprises Jon Deiley (guitars), Josh Smith (guitars), Nic Pettersen (drums), Brendon Padjasek (bass) and Marcus Bridge (vocals). Northlane have released five studio albums to date Discoveries (2011); Singularity (2013), Node (2015), Mesmer (2017) and Alien (2019). At the ARIA Music Awards in 2015, the group won the Best Hard Rock or Heavy Metal Album category for their album Node. At the ARIA Music Awards of 2017, the band won again with Mesmer. The band won the Best Hard Rock or Heavy Metal Album category for the third time at the ARIA Music Awards of 2019 for their latest album Alien.

Their debut album Discoveries was produced by Shane Edwards and Dave Petrovic, and recorded at Electric Sun Studios in Arndell Park, New South Wales.

The album received generally favourable reviews. KillYourStereo called it the best Australian album of 2011, and Sam Radojcin of Loud, praised the band's unique take on the progressive genre, and claimed they had potential.

The album reached #85 on the Australian ARIA albums charts.

This album is a limited edition 2022 reissue on translucent light blue coloured vinyl with a printed insert, pressed in Australia via UNFD.
