Leon Bridges - Gold-Diggers Sound

Gold-Diggers Sound is the third studio album by American soul singer Leon Bridges, released in July 2021 via Columbia Records.

Leon Bridges hearkens back to that earlier era of rock history when quiet and sincere could be just as radical as its opposite. He frequently gets compared to Sam Cooke because of their vocal similarities, but while Cooke offered raw ability. Bridges’ music is inherently smooth and melodious.

Gold Diggers Sound is a literal place: a studio, speakeasy style bar and hotel on an unassuming block in Los Angeles, California. It’s also where Grammy Award winning R&B artist and songwriter Leon Bridges engaged in his most productive recording sessions, jamming with homies like Terrace Martin and Ricky Reed and bringing his new album to fruition.

Gold-Diggers Sound collects stories from Leon Bridges’ life. Every song is a reflection of his experiences and relationships. It is sexual and introspective; modern and psychedelic. It is a vibe that travels from “Sho Nuff,” a sensual number that he calls an exploration into “how to please one another”; to “Sweeter,” a delicately heartbreaking mediation inspired by the continued police killings of Black men in America.

The album features guest appearances from Robert Glasper, Terrace Martin, and Atia "Ink" Boggs.

The album received has widespread acclaim from critics and debuted at #17 on the US Billboard 200 album chart. The album has been supported by three singles to date: "Sweeter", "Motorbike", and "Why Don't You Touch Me".

This album is on black vinyl with a printed inner sleeve and 20 page booklet, pressed in Europe via Columbia Records.
