Hozier - Hozier

Hozier is the self-titled debut studio album from Irish musician and singer-songwriter Hozier, originally released in September 2014 via Rubyworks.

Hozier, is an Irish musician, singer and songwriter from County Wicklow.  He released his debut EP, featuring the hit single "Take Me to Church", in 2013 and his second EP, From Eden, in 2014. His debut studio album, Hozier, was released in Ireland in September 2014 and globally in October 2014. His second studio album Wasteland, Baby! was released in 2019, topping the album charts in many countries.

He began studying music at Trinity College, Dublin, but dropped out midway through his first year to record demos for Universal Music.  While at Trinity, he became involved with the Trinity Orchestra.  He was a member of the choral ensemble Anúna from 2009 to 2012, and appears as a soloist on their 2012 release Illumination singing "La Chanson de Mardi Gras."  He toured and sang with the group internationally.

Hozier's debut album contains some tracks from his previous two EPs, Take Me to Church and From Eden.

The record was co-produced by the singer himself and Rob Kirwan and was recorded in Hozier's attic in Wicklow as well as the Cauldron, Westland and Exchequer Studios in Dublin.

Well received by music critics, Hozier was also commercially successful, reaching top ten positions in Ireland, UK, the United States, Canada, Australia, Denmark and Greece.

The album's lead single “Take Me To The Church” was a huge success worldwide, and also earned a nomination for Song of the Year at the 57th Annual Grammy Awards in 2015.

A total of seven singles from the album have been released progressively from September 2013 until February 2016 – “Take Me To The Church”, “From Eden”, “Sedated”, “Work Song”, “Someone New”, “Jackie and Wilson” and “Cherry Wine”.

The 10^th Anniversary deluxe edition features four bonus tracks including "In The Woods Somewhere” and "Arsonist's Lullabye”.

This double album 2LP record set is a 10^th anniversary limited edition on opaque custard yellow coloured vinyl housed in a gatefold sleeve with printed inner sleeves and four bonus tracks, pressed in the US via Rubyworks and Columbia Records.
