Dreamboat Annie is the debut studio album by Canadian American rock band Heart, originally released in August 1975 via Mushroom Records in Canada.

Heart is a Canadian American rock band that first found success in Canada and later in the United States and worldwide. Over the group's four-decade history, it has had three primary lineups, with the constant centre of the group since 1974 being sisters Ann Wilson (lead singer) and Nancy Wilson (guitarist). Heart rose to fame in the mid-1970s with hits “Magic Man” and “Barracuda” as music influenced by hard rock and heavy metal, as well as folk music.  To date the band has sold over 35 million records worldwide.

Producer Mike Flicker helped the group to polish their sound and obtain a recording contract with the Canadian independent record label Mushroom Records (not related to the Australian Mushroom Records).

The album was recorded at the Can-Base Studios in Vancouver, BC, which were later renamed to the current Mushroom Studios. It was the first major hit album recorded there.

Heart's first single “How Deep It Goes” b/w “Here Song” received little attention when released in Canada by the small Mushroom label in 1975. The second single “Magic Man” b/w “How Deep It Goes” was first picked up for radio play by CJFM-FM 96 in Montreal, while the band was on tour playing small club dates.

Dreamboat Annie was released following the success of the second single. Heart's first radio success earned them a spot opening a Montreal concert for Rod Stewart in October 1975. More Canadian airplay soon followed, and the album sold an impressive 30,000 copies across Canada in its first few months.

Mushroom then formed a US division and released Dreamboat Annie on Valentine's Day 1976 in the Seattle area, where Heart's members had lived and played before relocating to Canada in the early 1970s. The album was played by Seattle stations KISW and KZOK and promptly sold another 25,000 copies in the local area. The group and their label then began working together to build success for the album city by city.

Five singles were relased from the album: “How Deep It Goes”, “Crazy on You”, “Magic Man”, “Dreamboat Annie” and “(Love me like Music) I'll Be Your Song”.

“Magic Man” was the biggest single, reaching #9 on the US Singles Charts and #6 in Australia.

The album reached #7 on the UK Billboard 200 Albums chart, #36 on the UK chart and #9 on the Australian ARIA Albums charts.

This album is a 2025 limited edition reissue on red coloured vinyl housed in a gatefold sleeve, pressed in Europe via Capitol Records.
