Ed Sheeran - Autumn Variations

Autumn Variations is the sixth studio album by British singer-songwriter Ed Sheeran, released in September 2023 via Gingerbread Man Records.

Like “-” (“Subtract”), which came out in May 2023, this follow-up was produced by Aaron Dessner the guitarist for the National. The 14-track collection explore the shared emotions of love, heartbreak, depression and loneliness among Sheeran and his friends.

When Sheeran announced his new album release on social media, he said: "Last autumn, I found that my friends and I were going through so many life changes. After the heat of the summer, everything either calmed, settled, fell apart, came to a head or imploded". He also added: "My dad and brother told me about a composer called Elgar, who composed Enigma Variations, where each of the 14 compositions were about a different one of his friends. This is what inspired me to make this album”.

Autumn Variations is his first studio album for which he owns the copyright (being released via his Gingerbread Man label) and is also his first studio album with a title which is not a mathematical symbol.

This album is a limited edition on white coloured vinyl housed in a single pocket sleeve with a printed inner sleeve, pressed in Germany via Gingerbread Man Records.
