52nd Street is the sixth studio album by American singer songwriter Billy Joel, originally released in October 1978 via Columbia Records.

52^nd Street was released just a year after Joel’s breakthrough album The Stranger (1977), and had achieved significant critical and commercial success in the US and around the world.

The first of four Billy Joel albums to top the US Billboard album charts, 52nd Street was produced by Phil Ramone (Bono, Luciano Pavarotti, Bob Dylan, Barbra Streisand, Ray Charles) and was recorded at A&R Recording Inc. Described as more sophisticated and jazzy than previous albums, 52nd Street was well received by critics, winning the 1979 Grammy Awards for Album of the Year and Best Pop Vocal Performance, and ranking at number 352 on Rolling Stone magazine's list of the 500 greatest albums of all time.

52nd Street reached the number one spot on the Australian Kent Music Report Chart, the New Zealand Albums Chart, the Canadian RPM Albums Chart, and the US Billboard 200. It also earned Gold certification in France, Hong Kong, Japan, and the United Kingdom, as well as Platinum in New Zealand, 5x Platinum in Canada, and 7x Platinum in the US.

Four singles were released from the album: "My Life", "Big Shot", "Honesty", and "Until the Night".

This album is a 2024 reissue on black vinyl housed in a single pocket sleeve with a printed inner sleeve and remastered audio, pressed in Europe via Columbia Records.
