The Eyes Of Alice Cooper is the twenty-third studio album by American rock singer-songwriter Alice Cooper, originally released in September 2003 via Spitfire Records in the UK and Eagle Records in the US.

On this album Cooper leaves behind the industrial metal sound of albums Brutal Planet (2000) and Dragontown (2001), returning to his earlier hard rock soundscape.

This is a strong album with some very good material on the record. There is a strong rocker “Detroit City” with an anthemic chorus, beefed up by guitar from MC5’s Wayne Kramer. There is a punk rock style featured on “Man Of The Year”, contrasted by a classic Cooper ballad on “Be With You Awhile”.

The highlight of the album is the almost autobiographical “Between High School & Old School” on which he sings about being stuck somewhere between high and old school. How true. Alice has for more than three decades, been everyone’s favourite grown-up in teens clothing, entertaining audiences globally with his hard rock theatrical shows.

The Eyes Of Alice Cooper continues to show he can still make great new music, building on his already considerable legacy.

This album is a 2020 reissue limited edition on 180 gram virgin black vinyl housed in a gatefold sleeve, pressed in Germany via earMusic.
