Spice Girls - Spice

Spice is the debut studio album by British girl group Spice Girls, originally released in November 1996 via Virgin Records.

Spice Girls formed in 1994 comprising of singers Geri Halliwell ("Ginger Spice"), Emma Bunton ("Baby Spice"), Melanie Brown ("Scary Spice"), Melanie Chisholm ("Sporty Spice") and Victoria Beckham ("Posh Spice").

Their debut single “Wannabe” was released in the UK in July 1996 and quickly raced to the top of the charts in 31 countries. They continued to have massive chart success with subsequent singles and released three studio albums Spice (1996), Spiceworld (1997) and Forever (2000).

Spice is a pop album that incorporates styles such as dance, R&B and hip hop. Conceptually, the album centres on the idea of Girl Power, and the hype surrounding the group at that time in the mid 1990s was compared to Beatlemania.

Spice became a worldwide chart success peaking at number one in more than 17 countries across the world. It became the world's top-selling album of 1997, selling 19 million copies in over a year. The album has sold a total of 23 million copies worldwide, becoming the best-selling album in music history by a girl group and one of the best-selling albums of all time.

This album is a 25^th Anniversary limited edition zoetrope picture disc vinyl housed in a die cut single pocket sleeve with a printed insert, pressed in Europe via EMI Records.
