Middle Kids - Lost Friends

Lost Friends is the debut studio album by Australian indie rock band Middle Kids, originally released in May 2018 via EMI Records.

Middle Kids hail from Sydney, Australia and are led by singer-guitarist Hannah Joy and her husband, Tim Fitz, together with drummer Harry Day. They have released one self-titled EP in 2017, and have performed as openers for Ryan Adams, Cold War Kids and their 2017 tour stops at LouFest, Austin City Limits Fest amongst others.

Middle Kids’ anthemic sound is a combination of hooky tune craft, ripping music row-inspired slide guitar leads, and soaring melodic vocals. They shine especially bright live, where an added gear takes them from soft sound, to loud dynamics with hair-raising emotional impact. This has seen them play successful sold-out headline tours around Australia and international and national festivals including Lollapalooza, Osheaga, MO Pop, Austin City Limits, Bumbershoot, Life is Beautiful, Splendour in the Grass, Falls Festival and more.

Middle Kids combine echoes of the infamous female-fronted indie rock bands of the 90s and early 2000s, like Sleater- Kinney, The Breeders, and Belly, with thoroughly modern production and a deep love and respect of the songwriting process, making them a rare species in today’s music landscape.

There’s a contagious joy to this new band - wide-eyed and optimistic, but with an emotional rawness that touches the nerve of even the first-time listener.

Their debut album Lost Friends includes the hits “Edge of Town”, “Never Start”, “Mistake” and the new single “On My Knees” all of which have achieved most played on Triple J.

This album is a limited edition on purple coloured vinyl housed in a gatefold sleeve with a printed inner sleeve, pressed in Europe via EMI.
