The Teskey Brothers - Run Home Slow

Run Home Slow is the second studio album by Australian blues and soul band The Teskey Brothers, released in August 2019 via Half Mile Harvest Recordings and Ivy League Records.

The Teskey Brothers formed around 2008 in the outer eastern suburbs of Melbourne comprising siblings Sam and Josh Teskey (guitars, vocals), Liam Gough (drums) and Brendon Love (bass). Sam and Josh discovered American soul music of the 1960s via their parents record collection and were encouraged into music at school. The group spent their formative years jamming and playing in pubs and backyard party jams, honing their sound into a refreshing blend of soul and blues.

Following the success of their self-released (and produced) debut album Half Mile Harvest, the band signed to Ivy League Records, and recorded their second studio album with producer Paul Butler.

The new album is a great follow-up to their debut, an album that grows with each listen. The songs contain The Teskey Brothers signature sound, however there is added colour in instrumentation and stylistic variation, without wavering from their blues and soul roots. The album sounds like it could have emerged from the 1960s, and this is what makes the album so appealing.

The attention to detail with the album artwork is also very special.

This album is on black vinyl housed in a gatefold sleeve with an 8 page booklet, pressed in Australia via Ivy League Records.
