Pacifica is the third studio album by Australian electronic duo The Presets, released in September 2012 via Modular Recordings.

About the Band:

The Presets are an electronic music duo consisting of Australian musicians Julian Hamilton (vocals, keyboards) and Kim Moyes (drums, keyboards).

Formed in 2003 and signed to Modular Records, The Presets released two EPs (Blow Up, Girl and the Sea) in advance of their debut album, Beams, released in 2005 to positive critical response.

After two years of touring, including as the Australian support for Daft Punk, the band's 2008 release, Apocalypso, debuted at number one on the ARIA Albums Chart, and went on to win six awards at ARIA Awards 2008, including Album of the Year.

In 2009 Hamilton and Moyes won an APRA Award for Songwriters of the Year and another ARIA Award, this time for Best Dance Release for "Talk Like That".

The Presets are known for their dynamic live show, with one reviewer describing their performance at Coachella 2011 as "unequivocally the best live set I’ve ever witnessed in my entire life."

Aside from the Presets' extensive performance work, the duo has remixed tracks for several other artists including Kings of Leon, Silverchair and Lenny Kravitz.  The Presets are recognized as key players in the dance music explosion in Australia in the late 2000s.

About the Album:

They released their third album, Pacifica, in Australia in September 2012 which reached #3  in the Australian ARIA Albums Chart.

The album features the singles "Youth In Trouble "Ghosts", "Promises", "Fall" and "Push".

The Presets recorded the album in Sydney and Los Angeles.  The bulk of the album was recorded at the home studios of Julian Hamilton and Kim Moyes, with additional drum sessions taking place in Los Angeles with Joe Baressi and Sean Beavan. The Presets returned to Los Angeles to mix the album with Tony Hoffer.

Writing sessions for the album began as early as 2009. The band worked on as many as 30 songs towards the album. However it was towards the end of 2011 that the bulk of sessions came together.

The album was Triple J's Feature Album, Radar Radio's Feature Album and Fbi Radio's Sunset Album.

The album was produced by The Presets and mixed by Tony Hoffer. The track "Ghosts" featured on the soundtrack of FIFA 13.

This LP Record is on White Coloured Vinyl housed in a Gatefold Sleeve with a Digital Download Code, pressed in France.
