The Damned - Evil Spirits

Evil Spirits is the eleventh studio album by British rock band The Damned, released in April 2018 via Spinefarm Records.

Evil Spirits is the first album of new material from the legendary rock band in ten years and was recorded in New York with and produced by Tony Visconti, who is best known for his work with the late and great David Bowie.

The album was funded largely by a successful crowd funding campaign through PledgeMusic.

The band took full advantage of the New York studios classic Neve recording desk, valve gear and vintage instruments and microphones and played everything in the live room together. This gloriously old school approach kept the energy intact and allowed The Damned's true inventiveness to flow free.

On every level, Evil Spirits excels by the highest standards set by rock's all-time greats. Armed with this late-career classic, The Damned can now look to the future, and rightfully claim the respect they've always deserved.

There's something wonderful about the seventies sounds; glam, rock and punk records, they all sound so great and Tony specializes in beautifully crafted old school production. He had us all playing live, bashing it out in the same room with a focus on getting the initial band version of each song as close as possible to the finished thing.”.

The album was preceded by the first single, "Standing On the Edge of Tomorrow" in January 2018 along with the singles "Devil in Disguise" and "Look Left" in March 2018 and "Procrastination" in April 2018.[46]

The album received rave reviews and reached #7 on the UK Albums chart, their first album to crack the Top 10 on the UK Albums charts.
