T. Rex - Electric Warrior

Electric Warrior is second studio album (and sixth overall) by British rock band T.Rex, originally released in September 1971 via Fly Records in the UK and Reprise Records in the US.

The album marked a turning point in the band's sound, moving away from the folk-oriented sound of the group's previous albums and pioneering a more flamboyant, pop-friendly glam rock style. This was the second album to be released under the name T.Rex, an abbreviated form from Tyrannosaurus Rex, used for their earlier releases.

Electric Warrior is now considered to be one of Rock's defining albums, and includes the massive hit 'Get It On' plus 'Jeepster', 'Mambo Sun', 'Cosmic Dancer' and more.

T.Rex’s definitive glam rock album was produced by Tony Visconti and has now been Half Speed Mastered by Miles Showell at Abbey Road Studios, London.

This album has been pressed on 180 gram vinyl and housed in a sleeve with an Abbey Road OBI and Abbey Road Certificate.

 

About the Half Speed Mastering Process:

This record was cut using a specialist technique known as half-speed mastering. This is a process whereby the source for this record as well as the turntable on the disc cutting lathe are both run at half their normal operating speed, so that twice the time is spent cutting the intricate groove into the master disc.

This artisan approach results in cuts that have superior high frequency response (treble) and solid and stable stereo images.

In short, a very high quality master that helps to create a very high quality record.

This album is a 2022 reissue on 180 gram black vinyl with a printed inner sleeve, OBI strip and half speed mastered audio, pressed in Europe via A&M Records.
