To The Bone is the fifth solo studio album by English musician and composer Steven Wilson, released in August 2017 via Caroline International.

Known as "the king of prog rock", Steven Wilson best known as the founder, lead guitarist, singer, and songwriter of Porcupine Tree, as well as his production and audio engineering work, which he self-taught. His other projects include Bass Communion, Incredible Expanding Mindfuck (I.E.M.), and Blackfield. He has also worked with artists such as King Crimson, Pendulum, Jethro Tull, and Anathema.

His music has received widespread acclaim. He has been nominated four times for the Grammy Awards, twice with Porcupine Tree, twice with his collaborative band Storm Corrosion, and as a soloist on one occasion. In 2015, he received three awards at the London Progressive Music Awards for his services to progressive rock.

The new studio album To The Bone is inspired by the progressive pop records of his youth, such as Peter Gabriel's So, Kate Bush's Hounds of Love, Talk Talk's The Colour of Spring, and Tears for Fears' The Seeds of Love.

The album fuses driving futurist rock and spectral electronics to elegiac hyper-space ambience and dizzying, squalling guitars.

The album has received generally positive reviews from music critics. Philip Wilding reviewing the album for Classic Rock magazine rated the album 8 out of 10 stars, concluding “…To that end it is a preposterously good mix of prog tropes – Pink Floyd guitar tones, Rush’s juddering rhythms – and a clear-headed ear for melody and arrangement that makes the nine-minute “Detonation” fly by. Especially good too are the brisk “Nowhere Now”, the down-at-heel “Refuge” and the thrumming title track. To The Bone is arguably his best and most complete solo album yet…”

The album has reached #58 on the US Billboard 200, #3 on the UK and #30 on the Australian Albums charts.
