The Big Lebowski is a soundtrack album from the movie The Big Lebowski, originally released in February 1998 via Mercury Records.

A dark comedy about murder, greed and bowling, The Big Lebowski (featuring Jeff Bridges, John Goodman and Steve Buscemi) is the first Coen Brothers film since the Oscar-winning Fargo. Their first attempt at "mainstream" film-making, the movie presents a soundtrack filled with songs that reflect the plot's time period (1960s to 1970s).

Highlights include the first single, "My Mood Swings" performed by Elvis Costello, plus great tracks by Bob Dylan, The Gipsy Kings, Captain Beefheart, Kenny Rogers, Moondog and Townes Van Zandt.

The songs were curated by T-Bone Burnett (who would later work with the Coen Brothers on O Brother, Where Art Thou?), who included a few “surprises” in the song selection for the movie, including tracks by Henry Mancini and Yma Sumac.

This album is a 2014 reissue on black vinyl, pressed in the US via Mercury Records.
