Simply Red - Simplified

Simplified is the ninth studio album by British pop-soul group Simply Red, originally released in October 2005 via simplyred.com.

Simply Red are a British soul and pop band which has sold more than 50 million albums since the mid 1980s. The lead singer of the band is the singer songwriter Mick Hucknall, who, by the time the band was disbanded in 2010, was the only original member left. At the 1992 and 1993 Brit Awards, they received the award for Best British Group. The group re-formed in 2015.

Released in October 2005, Simplified was the second album on Mick Hucknall’s own label. When artists lucky and talented enough to enjoy a lengthy career consider the re-working of past high points, the results can often be mixed. But the title “Simplified” aptly reflects the deeply rewarding content. On this album, Mick Hucknall subtly reinvented some of his career high water marks, including many of his best-known songs, aided and abetted by the Simply Red crew.

Simplified includes the hit single “Perfect Love”, and stripped down versions of classic songs “Holding Back The Years” and “Fairground”. They also perform a stunning cover version of Leon Russell’s classic song “A Song For You”.

This album is a 2019 reissue on 180 gram red coloured vinyl with a printed inner sleeve, pressed in Europe via Demon Records.
