Sam Smith - In The Lonely Hour

In The Lonely Hour is the debut studio album by British singer Sam Smith, released in May 2014 via Capitol Records.

Sam Smith came to the public’s attention when he sang on Disclosure’s 2012 single “Latch”. His single “Lay Me Down” was released in February 2013 and reached #43 on the UK Singles charts.

His debut album In The Lonely Hour became an instant commercial success both in the UK and Internationally. The single “Money On My Mind” topped the UK singles chart followed by the “Stay With Me” which also peaked at #1 in the UK and #1 in the US.

Although the album received a lukewarm reception from music critics, Sam Smith’s distinctive tenor voice with falsetto abilities captivated the public and propelled the album up the charts, reaching #1 in the UK and Australia and #2 on the US Billboard 200.

“The Captain” loves this album, it is pure pop with a range of songs from danceable numbers to moving slower tempo songs, such as “Stay with Me” and “I’m Not The Only One”.
