Oh Pep! - Stadium Cake

Stadium Cake is the debut studio album by Australian folk pop duo Oh Pep!, released in July 2016 via Barely Dressed Records.

Olivia "Liv" Hally (vocals, guitar) and Pepita "Pepi" Emmerichs (violin, mandolin) met at the Victorian College of the Arts Secondary School in 2009, and began writing songs together.

The two have described their style as "folk/pop/country with bluegrass instrumentation", citing Paul Kelly, Leonard Cohen, Bob Dylan, Johnny Cash, Bright Eyes, and Arcade Fire, as being among their influences.

Oh Pep! were awarded The Age Music Award's Young Folk Performer of the Year in 2014 and were nominated for Best Folk Roots Album. The duo have played at The Woodford Folk Festival, Port Fairy Folk Festival, the National Folk Festival in Canberra (where they won Young Folk Performer of the Year), and Folk Alliance International in Kansas City. 

Oh Pep! have a very big year ahead of them. Having just signed to Dualtone Music Group (The Lumineers, Shakey Graves) in the US and a giant run of shows across Europe and America, they have released their debut album Stadium Cake.

2015 was an incredible year for Oh Pep! with an invite to play KEXP Live, as well as NPR Tiny Desk Concert & Daytrotter. NPR All Songs Considered hailed them as the "Newest and Most Promising Voice of Americana". At CMJ in New York KCRW named them one of the “11 artists that won the Fest” and The New York Times’, Jon Pareles, included them in his list of “CMJ keepers”.

Stadium Cake was recorded in Echo Lake, Nova Scotia in February and August 2015, and was produced by Daniel Ledwell. According to the duo their debut has more of a pop influence, than their EPs, and includes some rock influences.
