Melanie - Candles In The Rain

Candles In The Rain is the third studio album by American singer songwriter Melanie, originally released in April 1970 via Buddah Records.

Melanie Anne Safka-Schekeryk, professionally known as Melanie or Melanie Safka, is an American singer-songwriter. She is best known for the 1971–72 global hits “Brand New Key”, her cover of “Ruby Tuesday”, her composition “What Have They Done to My Song Ma”, and her 1970 international breakthrough hit “Lay Down (Candles In The Rain)”.

Melanie’s third studio album Candles In The Rain, has become an iconic album in the world of music, and her most commercially successful album reaching #17 on the US, #5 on the UK and #2 on the Australian albums charts.

The album has been fully remastered and re-released in its original cover including the lyrics to celebrate the 50th Anniversary of the release of this album.

There have been a number of versions released over the years, and this version is the American version which includes Alexander Beetle – a track which had to be removed from the European and UK release due to legal reasons.

This album is a 50^th Anniversary reissue on black vinyl housed in a gatefold sleeve, pressed in Australia via Possum Records.
