Massive Attack - Mezzanine

Mezzanine is the third studio album by English trip-hop group Massive Attack, originally released in April 1998 via Circa Records through Virgin Records.

Massive Attack formed in 1988 in Bristol, comprising Robert "3D" Del Naja, Grant "Daddy G" Marshall, and formerly Andy "Mushroom" Vowles ("Mush"). Their debut album Blue Lines (1991) contained the single "Unfinished Sympathy" which reached #13 on the UK singles charts and later being voted the 63rd greatest song of all time in a poll by NME. 1998's Mezzanine, containing "Teardrop", and 2003's 100th Window charted in the UK at number one. Both Blue Lines and Mezzanine feature in Rolling Stone's list of the 500 Greatest Albums of All Time.

Mezzanine saw the duo expanding their trip hop sound to electronica stylings, with diverse influences from new wave, rock, hip hop, and dub music.

The album was produced by Massive Attack and Neil Davidge.

Mezzanine topped the charts in the United Kingdom, Australia, Ireland, and New Zealand, becoming the group's most commercially successful album to date.

Four singles were released from the album: "Risingson", "Teardrop", "Angel", and "Inertia Creeps".

This double album is a 2017 reissue on 180 gram heavyweight black vinyl with printed inner sleeves, pressed in Europe via Virgin Records.
