King Krule - The Ooz

The Ooz is the third studio album by British singer-songwriter King Krule (Archy Marshall), released in October 2017 via XL Recordings.

Archy Marshall has a voice that seems mismatched with a body. Marshall looks too young to buy the cigarettes he's always sucking on. His voice, bigger than his body, is further magnified by reverb.

The Ooz is his third studio album and the second under his stage name King Krule.

The album was released to critical acclaim. Sam Richards reviewing the album for Uncut magazine rated it 8 out of 10 stars and writing:  “…The Ooz combines the scruffier, jazzier elements of his debut with the abstract beatmaking of 2015’s A New Place 2 Drown while pushing new waters. It’s not just Marshall’s prematurely husky croak that reminds you of Tom Waits; these mouldering lounge ballads and antic stomps put the emphasis on his (off) beat poetry, his south-east London stomping ground reimagined as a noir-ish underwater netherworld.
