Guns N' Roses - Greatest Hits

Greatest Hits is the first greatest hits compilation album by American hard rock band Guns N’ Roses, originally released in March 2004 via Geffen Records.

This compilation album was released by the record label without cooperation and involvement by members of the band. Axl Rose was busy working on the long awaited follow-up studio album of new original material to Use Your Illusion I & II (1991), Chinese Democracy, which finally saw the light of day in 2008.

The Greatest Hits album was released to mixed reviews at the time, however sold strongly, reaching #1 on the UK and #3 on the US Billboard 200 albums charts. The album has proven a popular seller, selling over six million copies in the United States by 2018. Greatest Hits is one of the longest charting albums in the Billboard 200 era, being one of only seven albums to notch at least 400 weeks on the chart by June 2017. As of July 2020, it has spent 500 weeks on the chart, becoming the fifth album to spend more than 500 weeks on the US Billboard 200 albums chart.

This 2LP set is a limited edition pressed on gold with red and white splatter coloured vinyl and features all the hits along with a special bonus track in “Shadow Of Your Love” which was first issued on the 2018 "Locked N' Loaded" edition of the Appetite For Destruction box set.

Instead of using the traditional Side A, Side B, naming convention, this Greatest Hits vinyl release slyly dubs the collections four sides G, N, F’N, R. Excluded from this 2020 reissue is any song from Chinese Democracy, which was released four years after the initial hits collection.
