Gov't Mule - Dub Side Of The Mule

Dub Side Of The Mule is the nineteenth album by the southern rock jam band Gov’t Mule, released in April 2015 via the Provogue and Mascot Label Group.

Gov’t Mule formed back in 1994 as a side project of guitarist Warren Haynes and bassist Allen Woody of The Allman Brothers Band. Since the band’s first debut self-titled album “Gov’t Mule” released in 1995, the band has gone to release nine studio albums as well as numerous live albums and EP releases.

Live double album Dub Side Of The Mule has been taken from Gov’t Mule’s 2006 live performance with special guest Toots Hibbert on lead vocals. The whole set sees the band take on a various reggae songs. The set features many of Toots Hibbert’s original songs such as “Pressure Drop”, “True Love Is Hard To Find” and “Reggae Got Soul”. There are also covers of non-reggae songs but are pulled off with a reggae influence, these songs include Radiohead’s “Let Down” and Al Green’s “I’m A Ram”.
