Ghost - Phantomime

Phantomime is an extended play by Swedish heavy metal band Ghost, released in May 2023 via Lorna Vista.

Formed in 2008 in Linköping, Ghost (also known as Ghost B.C. in the US) began playing underground shows and sharpening their sound, and through their occult ritual-styled performances coupled with strict vows of anonymity, (obscuring themselves under monks' cowls) their popularity with metal fans flourished, and soon spread to the rest of the world via their debut album, Opus Eponymous, defying expectations with a surprisingly welcoming melodic sound, weaving together '60s psychedelia, '70s doom, and '80s new wave of British heavy metal.

Ghost follows last year’s international chart-topping opus Impera as intended from the start with Phantomime, a diverse and spellbinding sampling of the Grammy Award-winning band’s musical DNA.

Featuring covers of classic songs by Television, Genesis, The Stranglers, Iron Maiden and Tina Turner, Phantomime pays tribute to these unlikely bedfellow influences while stamping them all with Ghost’s undeniable sonic signature.

This extended play is on 12” clear coloured vinyl at 33 ⅓ RPM with a printed inner sleeve, pressed in Germany via Lorna Vista.
