Plastic Planet is the debut solo studio album by Black Sabbath bassist Geezer Butler, originally released in October 1995 via TVT Records.
Originally released in 1995 under the name g/z/r, Plastic Planet features Burton C. Bell of Californian industrial / groove metal pioneers Fear Factory on vocals and is considered a classic of 90s metal.
The album perfectly melded Geezer’s roots in doomy blues rock to the industrial influenced metal sound that was a key element in pushing the genre forward in the nineties.
Butler wrote the bulk of the album's lyrics, which he then gave to Bell who wrote melodies and music. An exception was "Cycle of Sixty", written by Pedro Howse.
Available for the first time ever on vinyl using the newly updated cover artwork.
This album is a 2020 reissue on black vinyl with a printed inner sleeve, pressed in Europe via BMG.
