Eminem - Relapse

Relapse is the sixth studio album by American rapper Eminem, originally released in May 2009 via Shady Records, Aftermath Records and Interscope Records.

America's best-selling artist of the 2000s, Eminem has had ten number-one albums on the Billboard 200, selling more than 172 million albums world-wide, and making him one of the world's best-selling artists. Eminem first achieved mainstream popularity in 1999 with The Slim Shady LP, which earned him his first Grammy Award for Best Rap Album. His next two releases, 2000's The Marshall Mathers LP and 2002's The Eminem Show, were worldwide successes, each being certified diamond in U.S. and winning Best Rap Album Grammy Awards, making Eminem the first artist to win the award for three consecutive LPs.

Relapse was produced by Dre Dre, and was Eminem's first album of original material since 2004's Encore, following a four-year hiatus from recording due to writer's block and an addiction to prescription medication following the death of Eminem's close childhood friend and rapper Proof. Conceptually, Relapse concerns the ending of Eminem's rehabilitation, rapping after a non-fictional relapse, and the return of his Slim Shady alter-ego. 

One of the most anticipated album released of 2009, Relapse debuted at number one on the US Billboard 200, as well as in Australia, France, Norway, Denmark and New Zealand, selling 608,000 copies in its first week in the US alone, and earning double platinum certification by the Recording Industry Association of America.
