A New World Record is the sixth studio album by British rock band Electric Light Orchestra (ELO), originally released in September 1976 via United Artists in the US and Jet Records in the UK.

A New World Record became their first Top Ten album in the UK. It became a huge global success and would consolidate the band's position as one of the biggest selling rock bands in the world, reaching multi-platinum status in the US and UK.

The album sold five million units worldwide within its first year of release.

The cover art features the famous ELO logo, designed by Kosh, for the first time.

The album includes the hit singles “Livin’ Thing”, “Do Ya”, “Telephone Line” and “Rockaria!”.

This album is a 2016 reissue on 180 gram black vinyl housed in an embossed single pocket sleeve with printed inner sleeve and download code, pressed in Europe via Epic Records.
