Screen Violence is the fourth studio album by Scottish synth-pop band Chvrches, released in August 2021 via EMI Records in the UK and Glassnote Records in the US.

Chvrches was formed in 2011 when long time friends Iain Cook (Aereogramme, The Unwinding Hours) and Martin Doherty (who was a live performer with The Twilight Sad) decided to embark on a project together. While Cook was producing an album for Blue Sky Archives, he recruited their drummer Lauren Mayberry to sing in his project, and following the trio's success writing together, Chvrches was formed. Following the release of the singles "Lies", (ranking at number 28 on NME's Best Tracks of 2012), and "The Mother We Share" (ranking at number 51 on The Huffington Post 's Top 52 Songs of 2012), Chvrches was featured as one of the Guardian's New Bands of the Day and ranked fifth on the BBC's Sound of 2013 list of the most promising new music talent. The band has gone on to release three studio albums The Bones Of What You Believe (2013), Every Open Eye (2015) and Love Is Dead (2018), all of which have reached the Top 10 on the UK albums charts.

Screen Violence is the highly anticipated fourth studio album from Chvrches.

Recorded almost entirely remotely between Los Angeles and Glasgow, Chvrches self-produced and mixed Screen Violence via video calls and audio sharing programs to create this album: something that is unique and special, but inherently Chvrches.

The album includes the singles ‘He Said She Said’, ‘How Not To Drown (feat. Robert Smith)’ and ‘Good Girls’. ‘He Said She Said’ and ‘Good Girls’ have both been added to triple j, while ‘How Not To Drown (feat. Robert Smith)’ was added to Double J.

Screen Violence follows 2018’s Love Is Dead, which debuted at #7 on the ARIA Chart. The release comes as Chvrches celebrate a decade together as a band.

This album is a limited edition on opaque red coloured vinyl housed in a gatefold sleeve with a download code, pressed in the US via Glassnote Records.
