Ben Harper - Diamonds On The Inside

Diamonds On The Inside is the fifth studio album by American singer-songwriter Ben Harper, originally released in March 2003 via Virgin Records.

Harper’s long time backing band the Innocent Criminals were not credited in the title for the album, however all the touring members supported him on this album. Harper also added an additional guitarist for the sessions and subsequent supporting tour, Nicky Panicci (a.k.a. Nicky P) .

The album is passionate and his signature Weissenborn guitar is featured throughout once more. He continues to incorporate roots and world music influences on the album with the reggae vibe of “With My Own Two Hands” to the African influences of “Picture of Jesus”. He adds a country blues influence on “When It’s Good” and a little funk on “Temporary Remedy”.

The album was released to critical acclaim and cracked the Top 20 in the US albums market. The album reached #2 in Australia, #2 in New Zealand and #19 on the US Albums charts.

This double album 2LP record set is a 2009 reissue on black vinyl housed in a gatefold sleeve, pressed in Europe.
